Hello! My name is Makenzie Fay Baxter, but you can just call me Kenzie. I am an eighteen year old Utah resident. I love Middle earth, Lord of the Rings specifically, but everything Tolkien is amazing! I love to write, read, and, more recently, draw. I also like to watch movies… I have a tendency to over-think things, making me very sympathetic as well (which is also why I cry in movies and have an almost panic attack when something bad happens to someone else).

I am currently writing a trilogy I hope to publish called Deception Diary, the first is called Manifold Nature. I struggle with anxiety in all forms to some extent, which has a large influence in my writing.

My favorite color is purple. I am five foot nine. My favorite books are: Lord of the Rings, The Magic Thief, Goose Girl, and many others. Just a bit of information you really didn’t care about…

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, commonly known as the Mormons (if you would like to know more about it, you can go to lds.org).  We believe in the gospel that was on the earth so many long years ago, which has been restored on the earth, with the priesthood power, revelation, and truths God has given his children. I love my savior Jesus Christ and am grateful for his sacrifice for me. I like to look at everyone imagining how Christ sees them, which helps me to love everyone and understand that everyone has their own struggles on this imperfect world.

About the blog specifically:

Talking About Tolkien is a blog devoted to Tolkien’s marvelous works and the symbolism behind it. Tolkien was a genius that needs recognition in all forms of his works. It is okay to like the books and the movies!

  1. Hi again! Just leaving you an about page comment because I do that when I visit a blog I like for the first time. I agree with you about enjoying both books and movies. If you haven’t run across them yet, there are a couple of very good Tolkien blogs on WordPress here. One is Sweating to Mordor, the other is A Tolkienist’s perspective. There’s also one called the Leather Library that’s mostly a philosophy blog, but they blog about Tolkien often, and they have a nice archive.

I’m not involved with any of those blogs, but have been following all for about a year. They’re nice, they know their stuff, and they answer comments.
